Last week OpenAI launched an updated model of its popular artificial intelligence program. The current free version of ChatGPT is based on OpenAI’s GPT-3.5. On the other hand, the newest version of ChatGPT is based on GPT-4, which is much better at both creating and collaborating with users on creative projects.
OpenAI has also released an API for its latest AI model, but users will have to join the waitlist to access it. However, regular users can access the new model through ChatGPT+ subscription or Bing. It should be noted that while Bing Chat is free, it is limited to 15 chats per session and 150 sessions per day.
What’s new in GPT 4?
According to OpenAI, the GPT 4 model is more advanced in three key areas: creativity, visual input, and longer context. ChatGPT 4 is much better at collaborating with users on creative projects like music, screenplays, and technical writing. It can even learn a user’s writing style.
The new ChatGPT 4 can process up to 25,000 words. Due to this, it can interact with a webpage and help in creating long-form content as well as extended conversations. The new model can also receive images for interactions. However, the new model still suffers from problems such as “social biases, hallucinations, and adversarial prompts.”
How can I access GPT-4 with ChatGPT+?
1. Open the ChatGPT site at https://chat.openai.com/ and log in.
Note: If you already have access to ChatGPT+, the site will take you directly to ChatGPT4.
2. Click the “Upgrade to Plus” button on the left menu.
3. Click the “Upgrade Plan” button and subscribe to ChatGPT+ for $20 per month.
4. Once you’ve paid, you’ll have full access to the latest version of the chatbot.
5. When starting a new chat, a pulldown will give you the option to use one of the older models or GPT-4.
Do note that ChatGPT-4 is slower than other models; it is far more complex in interactions, with OpenAI terming their new release the most human yet.
How to access ChatGPT 4 for free with Microsoft Bing?
You can’t currently access GPT-4 with the free version of ChatGPT. However, the Bing chatbot is powered by GPT-4, according to Microsoft. Surprisingly, Bing users have had access to the new ChatGPT 4 from the very beginning. If you want to use the latest version of ChatGPT 4 for free, join the waiting list on Bing.
